In the midst of a lush green setting lies the famous hill station of Chail. Located at about 43 km from the maddening pace of Shimla, Chail, is said to be a hiker's paradise built by Bhupinder Singh, Maharaja of Patiala. Chail has the world's highest cricket pitch and a polo ground. Once you enter this slice of heaven, you will witness the mother nature at her exuberant best. The spellbound greenery and soundless calm beauty adds to the immortal memories of the tourists.

Prime draws Of Chail

Chail Sanctuary - Chail is set amidst tall cedars and stately oaks, its forests teeming with ghoral, sambar and cheer pheasants. Trek through the forests and you are sure to encounter barking deer and the highly endangered Kaleej pheasant. This sanctuary was notified on 21st March 1976 and covers an area of 10,854.36 hectares.

Palace Hotel - This hotel was built by Bhupinder Singh, Maharaja of Patiala when he was banished from Shimla.

Cricket Ground - In a country like India where cricket is a religion, this Chail's cricket ground is the highest cricket ground in the world and a boon for all the crazy cricket playing fans. Built in 1893, this cricket pitch located at the height of 2,144m is also used as polo ground.

Maharaja's Palace - Royal feel anyone? If yes, then the Rajgarh palace is the ultimate destination where your heart will find solace. Built in 1891, the palace is adorned with elaborate furnishings, sprawling lawns, sports facilities and enveloping forests. The palace spreads over an area of 75 acres and offers some fantastic views of the surroundings. In the year 1972, the palace was bought over by the Himachal tourism and converted into a heritage hotel.

Sadhupul- The beautiful village of Sadhupul is a favourite destination for picnickers.

Sidh Baba Ka Mandir - A dream, in the Maharaja's mind led to the construction of the Sidh Baba Ka Mandir, which holds a great religious significance.

Shivalik Peaks - With the majestic snow-capped Shivalik peaks in the background and the beautiful orchards and sylvan pine valleys around , Chail is sure to cast a spell on the visitors and a perfect creation of God.

All the adventure enthusiasts welcome to Chail.. Those who have the fire for trekking have the option of choosing between different trek routes - Kandaghat to Chail, Chail to Rajgarh and Chur-Chandni, and Chail to Shimla via Junga. For those interested in fishing and angling, Gaura river is just perfect. Its waters is full of masheer. In winters skiing at Narkanda is an additional adventure option.
