Kalimpong is one of the most popular hill stations of India which offers panoramic views of Mt. Kanchenjunga and other Himalayan peaks to all the travellers who enter this mesmerising piece of land. In fact Kalimpong is a blaze of colour throughout the year and the credit for this goes to the orchids of the region. The vast rolling meadows covered with a stole of wild flowers, the sparkling brooks and rivulets meandering lazily by the terraced fields are a great delight to the senses and makes us plan a trip to this place time and again.

The peaceful ambience of Kalimpong is heightened by the great number of tourists spots. Being in the shadow of Darjeeling and Gangtok, most of the tourist traffic pass through this town.

Gomapas
Thongsha Gompa - This Bhutanese monastery is the oldest and was established in the year 1692.

Zong Dog Palri Fo- Brang Gompa - This monastery was consecrated personally by the Dalai Lama in 1976.

Tharpa Choeling Gompa - This belongs to the Dalai Lama's Gelugpa sect of Tibetan Buddhism.

Flower Nurseries
Flower Nurseries are the real USPs of Kalimpong. It produces about 80% of India's gladioli and is famous for orchids, cacti, amaryllis, dahlias, anthuriums and roses. There is also a Seri Culture Institute.

If you wish to buy local products Kalimpong's markets prove to the best. Ginger, honey , cheese and lollipops are must local buys of the place.
