It won't be wrong to call Mount Abu as
an 'Oasis Of Rajasthan' as it is a home to rivers, lakes, waterfalls and
evergreen forests. Since time immemorial Mount Abu has been the coolest spot
in the overheated Rajasthan and has helped rescue people from the burning
heat of the desert. This pleasant hill station hosts royalty and sways in an

There is an immense possibility of sightseeing in
Mount Abu. A traveller's eyes may get exhausted but the sights are always on

Dilwara Temples - These wonderfully carved Jain Temples date back to
the 11th and 13th centuries A.D. These are rated as the finest temples of
India. The marble architecture here is outstanding and beyond any
comparison.
Vimala - Vasahi Temple - Built in 1030 A.D by Vimala Shah, this
temple is the oldest among the other temples in the complex. The temple has
been designed in an austere fashion on the outside and took about 14 years
in completion. This temple was dedicated to Adinath, the first of the Jain
Tirthankaras.
Neminath Temple - Built in 1230 A.D, this temple is dedicated
to Neminath, the 22nd tirthankara. It is told that gold and silver,
equivalent in weight to that of the marble was given to the workers who
worked on or sculpted the temple. This temple is built in the Solanki style
of architecture and is shaped like a wonderful lotus flower.
Luna Vashi Temple - Built in 1232 A.D., this temple is similar, but
smaller than the Vimila -Vashi Temple. he doorways of the temples are framed
by ornate pediments and plasters while the columns are exquisitely carved.
There are two other temples in the complex, dedicated to Parshavantha and
Adinatha.
Gomukh Temple - Located about 2 Kms from Mount Abu, this is the site
of the ancient agnikunda , where legend has it that sage Vashistha performed
the great fire sacrifice. The temple contains an image of Vasistha along
with images of Lord Rama and Lord Krishna, both of whom are considered to be
incarnations of Vishnu, the Preserver of the Hindu trinity.
Nakki Lake - The lake derives its name from the belief that it was
emerged out of the earth by the fingernails (nakk) of the gods. The lake is
the focal point of tourist activity in Mt. Abu. One can enjoy boating in
this lake.
Guru Shikar - Guru Shikar is the highest peak of the Aravali range,
located at about15 km northeast of Mount Abu. It's an important Hindu
pilgrimage site, worth visiting on your Mount Abu Tour.
Sunset Point - At a short distance from the lake, a spectacular view
of the sunset can be witnessed here in quiet contemplation of nature.
Achalgarh Fort - This fort, built by the warrior King Rana Kumbha is
now in ruins Five miles from Mount Abu, this is one of thirty-two forts that
were constructed all over Mewar in order to secure the kingdom from
invaders.

Climate's Hide & Seek
Mount Abu is the only hill station of
Rajasthan. It experiences a fairly temperate climate. In summers Mount Abu
is dry but pleasant and the temperature ranges from 15ºC to 33ºC
while winters are bit colder with temperature ranging from 7ºC to 25ºC.
The rainfall is scanty.
